For children and adults.
A paper Opera, what`s that?
Our stage is composed of a two meter
high paper role. When unrolled our stage becomes four meters wide.
The overture begins. The scissors cut a window in the paper. Notes
make themselves visable. The Opera looks like it`s going to start,
but the notes have run away. They are all together gone. An Opera without
notes, is that possible?
The search for the music begins.
Four hands take place of actors. A picture concert unravels. With the
help of elements from shadowplay, object theater, vocal improvisatio:
the atmosphere of sound evolves. The stage is cut so slits and holes
arrise....a »Paper Organ« is born! The stage becomes it`s own instrument.
Still the notes remain untamed. With the help of cello, saxaphone,
flute, and drums a scent of music is discovered.
Okay, so what is paper Opera?
It is the attempt of a musician and
sculptor to feel the simplicity of material in music. Everything arrises
before the eyes of the audience. The music collage freekly awakens
the fantacy of children and adults alike. The Opera is funny, absurd,
and saucy - it is what it is: Paper, scissors, and four hands.
