Question: What is a stitch in time?
Answer: When a seamstress seams paper.
Question: What is she seaming?
Answer: A theatre play – or so it seems!

A big paper screen sets the scene as pattern and cutout sheet for a play with sewing machine and paper. The players are textile artist Susanne Winter and sculptor Johannes Volkmann. Stitch-by-stitch they sew images; cut-by-cut they create patterns; word-by-word they tell stories. In playful ways the players play a play around the art tailoring. A performance that leads your imagination on a journey.

For over twelve years the Paper Theatre has been exploring the artistic dimensions of Paper: productions with paper and music, paper and word, paper and colour – performed all over the world.
Sewing paper is now the name of the game, where the red thread will arrive out of the blue.
